If you take Mac Marines, you have already read this.
I retired last year from 34 years of teaching. The
last 20 or so I have been the Apple Tech in our
school, non-paid, as an elementary counselor. In my
elementary building, they still use Apple IIEs and
when they got their new, big Windows machines, I
advised them to hang on to those Apple IIes so, at
least the kids had something to mess with when the
WIndows machines went down.

The new machines have been a nightmare and still all.
I cannot begin to tell you how terrible they have
been. I kept my UMAX 600 and wouldn't let our tech
person touch it. I upgraded it to a G-3 and put a USB
board in it. I retired last year for medical reasons,
... arthritis has caused me to completely lose the
ability to sleep. And you can't go to school that
way.

I took my UMAX with me. They didn't want it, and I
had more in than it was worth. The new counselor, a
man, got his new machine up and running. Stopped in
the other day to see how he was doing.

"I just got my machine back. It was my fault. I typed
something into it, that was wrong, and I had to send
it to the tech person." What? Type something in
wrong? He told me he was very knowledgeable about
computers, but after that, I have my qualms.

I went from TRS-80s --> Apple IIes --> Mac Plus --->
Mac Classic II --Umax 600.

The kids in high school find their computers down more
than up. Viruses are terrible. The kids cannot bring
a diskette from home and put into the system. But,
what do I care? I am gone, and my two boys have long
graduated from high school and have jobs working with
Macintoshes. My oldest son is in a total Mac
environment, and believe me, he didn't get it from
school.
