Upgrading guile18 fails

Yosemite 10.10.5 When doing my Monday penance viz. upgrading ports, something called guile18 (whatever it is) failed to proceed. Nearly 5000 lines in main.log so I won't attach it (unless someone really wants it), but the important bit seems to be: :info:destroot ./gh.texi:1000: must be
