Your diagnostic are impressingly correct and precise. Dia works after the
installation of pango + quartz invariant, although I had to use -f to for
its installation.

Yes, drastic and cleansing, but Oh, so satisfying to return to ordinary
errors caused by Apple updates without all the gross BS from Ports. I
say BS advisedly because the absolute thing about Ports is it's
consistent and ongoing incompatibility across versions.
