Well I decided to wait for a new macports gimp2 release without the need for
this patch. In the meanwhile I will use Gimp on my VMWare Fusion Ubuntu
partition. Works effortlessly on Ubuntu.

I can see wanting to compile Gimp oneself, but why don't you use the
precompiled package for OS X
:-) Well, I actually did not look for a ready made - pre-compiled - Gimp
package. I thought that most or all X11 programs had to be
installed/compiled via MacPorts. I just starting using a Mac two weeks ago
you see. Thanks a lot for curing my ignorance. I will get the package and
install Gimp like

FYI, Mac OS X 10.6.2 is available and you should probably update to it and
anything else Software Update suggests. If you still have Xcode 3.2, you should
probably update to 3.2.1 also.

I hope this helps to figure out how I can remedy this
Please clean and try again and file the result as a ticket
Always search trac first. In this case,
I have done all the updates -Xcode 3.2.1 and OS X 10.6.2 - and a proper
clean of gimp2. All files were fetched and it took quite a while again. I
made a log as you described:
sudo port clean gimp2
sudo port -d install gimp2 21 | tee ~/Desktop/gimp2.txt
bzip2 ~/Desktop/gimp2.txt
I still got
I found http://trac.macports.org/ticket/21011 that is very similar and there
is a patch offered:
1. download the files patch-plug-ins-twain-tw_mac.c.diff and
Portfile-gimp2.diff
2. copy patch-plug-ins-twain-tw_mac.c.diff to the gimp2 port files diretory
$ sudo cp
Was trying to build GIMP and got the following errors after soo many
packages installed perfectly well:
make[2]: *** [gimpcpuaccel.lo] Error 1
make[2]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs
mv -f .deps/gimpdatafiles.Tpo .deps/gimpdatafiles.Plo
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
