Hi Ryan,
I will just use the gcc 4.4 in the ports to bootstrap gcc 4.5.2, avoiding the
older gcc that Apple provides.
I used to do a lot builds and packaging of GNU
I made a small progress. I decided to download the latest stable
etherape-0.9.10 source and build it myself, using libraries that were built
when I was trying out the macports version.
Once I sudo myself into root, I performed the following. Now I can see IP

Hi Ryan,
Thanks for your note. I am looking into bootstrapping GCC 4.5.2 using GCC from
MacPorts first, then I will build the entire tool chain, and then I will make
another attempt. I will also avoid building the universal variant, which IMHO
complicates things.

Hello
Well, I guess there are more processes involved, I'm just suggesting that maybe
you may find
differences of priorites in the process group with the respective Os's. And
this is without knowing exactly what kind of information htop disclosures about

Hi Tommy,
Thanks for your response. As I stated in my post, wireshark 1.4.4 works well
for me, but Etherape doesn't. My problems are with Etherape, not with
wireshark :-)

Hello.
I just installed Wireshark version 1.4.0 and can't remember doing anything but
installed it.
