about permissions problems). I put them in /usr/local/ports/.
Yes. I think those instructions have not yet been updated after the
privilege-dropping code was merged into base some versions ago.

Hi,
You might want to rebuild your ports to ensure they did not link against
/usr/local.
This probably works for this purpose:
sudo mv /usr/local{,-moved-for-macports}
port echo installed port-installed.txt
port echo requested and active port-requested-active.txt
sudo port -f uninstall
outside of the normal system locations and /usr/local/.
The only flags you should for that need are -I/opt/local/include in the
CPPFLAGS and -L/opt/local/lib in the LDFLAGS; MacPorts sets these for you
automatically at configure time. Software with poorly-behaved or non-existent
configure scripts may
pathes are:
/usr/local/bin/ruby# 1.8.6
I am not familiar with ruby or rvm. I do however recommend that you remove this
ruby from /usr/local; having software installed in /usr/local can cause
problems for ports you install with MacPorts. This is in our FAQ in our wiki

If I had to guess, you have some items installed within /usr/local
that are conflicting with this MacPort.

I may, last resort until I understand what is going on here.
you will get the reminder you need to actually execute /opt/local/
apache2/bin/apachectl
or you could just put this in your profile
alias apachectl=/opt/local/apache2/bin
