Way to go figuring that out. What I hear is VO saying E, so I figured it was
just announcing the key press and didn't try arrowing left or right. But once
I hear that, you are right, all the accents are there. Cool!

Good news. I do not know any foreign languages but run into some of
those characters in my braille reading so made a list of the braille
symbols for reference.
So this got me curious and I found the answer. What Google showed
you is true, its just not Voiceover friendly.

In my quest for the inverted exclamation mark, have been reading that on newer
Macs, if you hold down a key, accented characters for that letter will pop up
as an option. But I have tried this out in both Pages and Text edit with no
luck. Does anyone know how to make this feature
