Hello,
I'm quite new to debian packaging and after releasing maemo-stars many users
are reporting problems with the dependency on libglade2.
They say they can't find the package libglade2 and the application installer
refuse to install the program.
I'm confuses, shouldn' t the app installer
Hey,
As some people have noticed in the past, theming/display used to be
pretty broken when using Sardine. This was caused by the fact that (due
to the way things were packaged/organized) we couldn't really provide
any gtkrc/theme updates without providing the whole graphical package (a

Hi,
There was a discussion in #maemo yesterday about the where to get the sources
for various
maemo apps that aren't in svn. You can download a 200MB tarball from maemo.org,
but that
requires the wlan MAC (sigh). Bandwidth challenged people can
Hello,
I finally managed to get ogg playback on my device, thanks to
N770-Freak and the Getting started with multimedia-document at
maemo.org. Now, I could upload the packages I put together out there
(e.g. on Garage), but I'm wondering how upgrading Nokia-installed
packages should be done.
So

Whatever you do, you shouldn't use only the Conflicts field, but instead
some kind of combination of Conflicts, Replaces and Provides.
That way lays madness. :) You shouldn't turn a real package into a

Hi All,
I was reading the instructions for the installation of the Canola project
and I noticed something interesting:
It says, in case I have IT2006 v2.2006.39-14 installed, I should add the
scirocco repo...
Should I change all mistral occurrences to scirocco?
My questions is a general one -

Yes, something like this *might* be possible. I'm right now looking into
similar hacks to get some kind of a kiosk-mode on one 770 I found laying
around. I will write more about my findings bit later.
It's entirely possible, but you have to disable the lifeguard reset. I

Hi Folks,
Should I change all mistral occurrences to scirocco?
My questions is a general one - not specifically for the Canola
install.
If you have IT2006 v2.2006.39-14 installed...

There is no good general answer for this question yet. What I've been

My understanding is that it is not legal to redistribute the
binary-only Nokia stuff.I base this on my read of the

quite appears clear to me that copying and redistribution are not
Hi! I'm trying to install some extra packages (apt-get update and then
apt-get install package_name), using armel target configured properly.
However, there are always unmet dependencies problems. After trying apt-get
-f install and just unsuccessfully results, I checked /var/lib/apt/lists and

Can't you just provide a gstreamer-plugins-ogg package? Certainly you

Hi
I installed Canola (great app btw) and noticed that other apps won't start
anymore, even when there is enough swap space available.
For example: I have Opera and the mail client runing and want to launch a third
app. I see a high cpu load which fades away after some seconds but the app
