I was just sitting sifting through extras-testing. While verifying
optification of apps therein, I saw that some apps were chucking the
docs/appname/ off of /usr/share/ and some were optifying that bit.
Which is preferable?

The copyright and other files in themdoc folder get purged by docpurge. If
copyright files are required, the doc folder should be optified. I am assuming
docpurge does not purge the docs folder in /opt.
