I forgot to wish all a happy Mailman Reminder Day yesterday.
Do these reminders not bother everyone else? Getting a few dozen of these once
a month used to really piss me off. I long since sent them to my spam folder
but just on principle whoever decided these should be enabled by default ought
I am trying to set up a list and have been able to get mailman to use the
proper external domain name for the email address but not for the links to
the unsubscribe page, admin page etc it includes in the emails. Mailman

I think I will write a little python skript to achieve soon if there
is nothing like that. (where soon means 1 month)

I'd like to help out with the design of Mailman and want to know the step's
in which I should do this. Should I just design something and then present
it or is there a group that is currently working on the look and feel of
Mailman?
My Reasoning - I'd like to:
- improve usability

Using Mailman 2.1.3, we have had problems with virus-generated messages with
spoofed senders getting through to a one-way list.
The only 'solution' I have found is to to disallow any non-moderated users
or administrators. This forces all messages, even from list admins, to be
moderated.

Hello,
I'm the list support person for my university, and I had a question about
change I'm considering making to the mailman list on our site. We have monthly
password reminders enabled by default and the message that gets sent out starts with

I used the mailman patch-manager at sourceforge to upload a list
submission handler, courier-to-mailman.py, to handle list submissions
and control messages under Courier virtual domains. It's based on Bruce
Perens' qmail-to-mailman script, but is updated for mailman v2 and

Make the new list, then perhaps use config_list to dump the
variables of the list to clone from, make changes, and then import
into the new list, making the new list look a lot like the old
list?

I'm beginning to think that Mailman should strip all incoming headers
down to the bare minimum (leave From:, Subject:, Cc:,
Received:, and that's about it), at least by default.
At least making this an option would make quite a few people happy, I
imagine, although a more configurable

One user has unsubscribed from my list just because it was distributed
over the list.

I wish that moderators have access to Membership management options, but
not to all other options available to list-owner.
Is that possible?
If not could it be included in the next Mailman edition?
Would be also good if they could edit posts before approving, and not only
reject or discard them.
Recently, I've looked at the freelists.org running on ecartis:
http://www.ecartis.org/
It seems that the lists on freelists have some interesting options, which
Mailman haven't got, so maybe you could introduce some of them into Mailman.
I put some screenshots over there:

Check that. You may have to remove all and add all back in,
however, after checking that. Do not think there is a way to

I would do it inside postfix header_checks filters, with a line like
/^X-Confirm-Reading-To: / IGNORE
If you're using some other MTA, or want this setting to be only for

Depending on your MTA, you could configure it to remove various
types of headers on incoming messages. However, I'm not aware
