Hi All
I have a few questions about web studio. I tried looking for the answers in
other post but was unable to.
First of all I would like to know if there is any documentation available
regarding web studio other than the help files provided? And also not all
these help files are provided in
For future problems, I can recommend the FireBug plugin for Firefox or
the debugger in IE8 (Press F12).
Using either tool, you can set a breakpoint in your JS code, and once
paused, you can inspect the variables avalible.
You can then easily see what parent and opener points to, and this

The problem with the Anonymous user is that you must create the session
with that user.
If you attempt to access data from another session, it will work with
Administrator, but fail with any other user.

WebStudio has not been fully developed, and has not been maintained for
quite a while.
It has been removed from the forthcomming 2.1 release due to this.
The only alternative tool is MapGuide Maestro (Studio is no longer
avalible for MGOS users):
http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/wiki/maestro
Studio is available for MGOS, you just need to take out a subscription for
mapguide enterprise which bundles studio, which is in effect sponsoring
the bulk of the mapguide / fdo project developers and plus gets you
access to autodesk support...

Can you connect to MGOS 2.1 with Studio 2010?
You can't connect to MGOS 2.0.2 with Studio 2010.

hi all,
I use mapguide open source 2.0.2 on Windows XP and IIS
I have to select an object after the extraction, but
I tried in three different alternative ways but doesn't work
I use the following code.
Anyone can help me? My work is stopped!
thanks Alba

Been strugling along. Depend.exe told libpq.dll could not be opened. I googled
for it, followed instructions and installed it. Now when I press test
connections, it will not give me errors...seems like progress!
I saved the data connection and tried to connect a layer. Maestro tells me:
Failed
ieshims.dll and ieframe.dll can be ignored.
There should be no harm in copying the files, but it's not required.
Now that you get that error, it is likely that the error.log contains
extra information:
2.0.2: C:\Program Files\MapGuideOpenSource\Server\Logs\Error.log
2.1: C:\Program
Are you certain that the xml you use is correct?
Do you remember to refresh the map?

That's an interesting view of paying thousands of dollars when you only want
a license of Autodesk Studio to work with MapGuide Open Source..
I would rather see Autodesk make Studio available as a stand-alone product
again at a reasonable IDE price and then have people contribute any
We were very, very disappointed in Autodesk once again. A little-strong arm if
you ask me. Especially for those of us who had Studio from the get-go.
Maybe we should all work on cloning a few Kenneth Skovhedes'? ;-)

Yes, I really disliked that sales strategy since I was often recommending to
my MapGuide Open Source customers that they buy Autodesk Studio. That
approach by customers was probably one of the primary reasons for Autodesk's
rationale and they also needed some way to further separate MapGuide

I was not aware of that. That's good to know. People who just want Studio
and have no need for Map are not going to want to spend thousands of dollars
on Map just to get Studio, though. I would still like to see it sold
stand-alone again.

I completely agree with Andy.
There are a number of areas where support and sponsorship will make a
significant difference to MapGuide Open Source - Maestro development,
Performance and stability improvements for open source providers like GDAL,
Enhancements and bug fixes for Fusion,
Gary,
I was not aware. Thank you. I will check it out.
