Re: [mapguide-users] Maestro Feature Upgrade problem

2017-02-02 Thread Jackie Ng
The latest build should fix this:

https://ci.appveyor.com/project/jumpinjackie/mapguide-maestro/build/artifacts

Can you confirm?

Re: [mapguide-users] new mapguide project on linux ubuntu

We do have the similar issue. Linux 64bit not working so far, because the FDO
provider works either with Postgres nor Oracle... .

Any ideas to solve welcome!

Betreff: [mapguide-users] new mapguide project on linux ubuntu

We are conducting initial studies for a project with Mapguide on a ubuntu
Linux. We have a project running linux 12 with 32 bits, mapguide 2.6 and
Postgresql 9.1 and now we would like to update it all and the first scenario
was to use linux 14 with 64 bits and Mapguide 3.1 and Postgresql 9.4.
Our current provider only supports 64-bit linux (14 or 16) and did not succeed
in the initial tests. Has anyone ever used similar architecture?

Thanks,
Seba

[mapguide-users] An important notice about MapGuide Open Source 3.2

2017-02-02 Thread Jackie Ng
Hi All,

If we refer to the past for any indication, now is generally the time of
the year where I'd normally start preparations for the next major release
of MapGuide Open Source. The version this time round would have been 3.2.

Considering the extremely small set of changes since 3.1 and no upgrades to
thirdparty libraries we use or MSVC compiler changes, I have come to the
decision that I will be skipping over plans to make a 3.2 release. Instead
I am going to prioritize continued maintenance releases of 2.6, 3.0 and
3.1. Any post-3.1 changes can simply be back-ported.

Skipping over 3.2 will also give us a good year-long window for development
of new features (something I haven't had time as of late with various
side-projects monopolizing my time), so instead of spending time/resources
preparing and maintaining a 3.2 release, that time/resources could be spent
converting my various incomplete sandboxed ideas into fully-realized
features for the next version after 3.2.

Thoughts?
