Rhode Island Jobs with Justice is going to be holding a town hall meeting at Bell Street Chapel regarding environmental racism that is impacting the West End/Olneyville neighborhoods. I have personally been able to discuss the event with director Mike Araujo and one particular issue that he is concerned about deeply is residents being exposed to lead and other toxins that are being released into the air by illicit and nonunion renovations on an old mill in the area of Eagle Square. This is a very good opportunity for community interaction. Food, childcare, and translation services are being provided.
