There was a rally and march yesterday organized by the Brisbane branch of the Palestinian Solidarity committee. We had about 150-200 there. Quite respectable for Brisbane (alas!). I was an invited speaker, and trulyu I feel it is an honour to speak out for the human rights of the Palestinian People. Theirs is one of the great moral struggles of our times. The success of Zionism is due in no small part to its ability to present itself not as a colonizing force but one of a moral redemption. Still the reality of the brutality of the Zionist regime in Tel Aviv, is slowly, how slowly, making itself felt. On the march we had a range of slogans. The one in Spanish "Viva Palestina!" I particularly liked. I was quite overwhelmed by nostalgia. It is so long ago since myself and my comrades in the Communist League marched through Brisbane chanting "Il pueblo unido, jamas sera vencido" to the astonishment of the locals.
