lost among all of the details provided by this article is any criticism of 
capitalism. 

i would have thought that in this capitalist utopia that any number of 
pharmaceutical companies would have jumped at the opportunity to produce a 
vaccine for profit. 

just 8 months ago we were treated to articles like this ( 
http://www.nih.gov/news/health/jun2012/ncats-12.htm ) extoling the virtues of 
government and corporate partnership (fascism?, no?, let's move on) with 
$20,000,000 invested in patient treatments for "previously unexplored disease 
target[s]." 

nothing for ebola? 

but all we get are these whiney american liberal arguments for more funding, 
never going to the root, just trimmings. come on! can't we just continue to 
prop up this old diseased carcass called capitalism?
