Cablevision Systems Corp. and Time Warner Cable are playing ball again after reaching a multiyear agreement Monday to return Madison Square Garden Network and FSN New York to 2.3 million Time Warner Cable subscribers.
The companies finalized the long-term agreement with help from New York State Attorney General Elliot Spitzer, representatives from both companies said. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Time Warner executives said the deal did not include Cablevision carriage of the proposed Time Warner Inc.-Comcast Corp. New York Mets regional sports network expected to launch next year.
MSG and FSN New York -- which Cablevision pulled from Time Warner New York in March -- were scheduled to be returned to Time Warner systems Monday night in time for the 8 p.m. (EST) start of the New York Mets-Chicago Cubs Major League Baseball game on FSN New York.
