[MBZ] big thank you to list and Rusty's assistant; engine overheating etc

First, big thank you to the List for helping me out to diagnose the problems of cold starting and engine temperature. It was awhile back when we discussed the issues on my 1993 190E 2.3 gas engine. Second, thank you to Rusty's assistant, Tom if you have access to the list. Sorry, Rusty. Wanted

The worldpac is bad. The MB dealer parts department has to look up at another computer to get me the thermostat housing cap. I still prefer the old days where it goes to the mircofiche and gets the real thing. Not computer --- once the internet connection is dead, the whole dealership stands

While I was at the MB dealer today (different topic on thermostat housing cap), there was a GPS (portable) in the display closet. I am not sure who makes it. But I will be back tomorrow to pick a missing part. I will tried to find out more. Well at least it has a star on it (maybe the north

How about 190E 2.3 which I do have difficulty in start too? In spring or summer at least twice before it runs. In winter, at least 5 or 6 times. It crank but wouldn't turn. On 2nd try, it turn but shudders and dies too. Do gas engine rely that much on vacuum like diesel? KS - Original

Mine ('93 190E2.3 gas) last from '93 to '06 (original radiator); did not use the green stuff. The low coolant is strange as I did changed coolant and thermostat in the past many times and had no problem. KS - Original Message - From: Jim Cathey [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Mercedes

problem too. Temp switch for the fan may be bad. kok.hong wrote: HI all, I replaced the radiator about 6 months ago (original radiator leaks after 13 yrs) with an OME radiator (costly but maybe it will last longer). Then I filled it up with MB coolant (no mixing) and drove it. No problem since

Yes, I did straight anti-freeze (MB coolant not the green stuff or yellow stuff) to the recovery tank. Guess, I goof here as I thought it has more water in there than coolant. KS - Original Message - From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: mercedes@okiebenz.com Sent: Monday, May 28, 2007 3:57

someone try to start the car. You should see fuel spraying into the jar. If not, either the thermostat that sends the signal to it is bad, or the cold start valve is bad. I think that the radio is defective - the right stereo channel is not working. On 12/23/06, kok.hong [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi
