In the course of hacking together my own tag template, I reverse
engineered the XML format into an XSD document. It's attached to ticket
#2707 (http://trac.openstreetmap.org/ticket/2707) if anyone wants a
look. Not sure how much use it is outside XML editing applications.

Merkaartor was finished (as in complete). Although there will be
another version of the Editing API at some point, with an explicit Area
type being the main change
