I don't think this should be regarded as an 'official' milestone, since it would encourage excessive caching, which is bad for GIMPS as a whole, but it is definately a point of interest. Both of my own exponents are in the 9.7 M range, and I picked them up in early February, if memory serves right. When I joined GIMPS, I had no idea of how fast it would grow. I think that compliments go to us all.
