I love the concept of them evolving up there into
super-space-faring-beasties.
Actually, Carl Sagan envisioned just such evolved life forms in his book,
COSMOS: Hunters and floaters, imaginary but possible lifeforms in the
atmosphere of a Jupiter-like planet. (pg 42)

Sterling,
In your latest post you write:
When I [Sterling] said:
As to what Ortiz actually did, I do not know the truth of

Yet you act as if you do know. You sentence him to be guilty.
This is, as they say, an extreme rendering of the text!

Hello List,
I have 15 auctions ending in the next couple days. Most are micro's,
including Norton County, Mt Egerton, Gold Basin, Franconia, and some African
unclassifieds. Several include a free Micro-Pic's CD showing the magnified
interior
of the specimen, pretty cool!
So, the only meteorite purchase I've had lost in the mail was one from Michael
Cottingham from Ebay. I go to the mailbox today, though, and the package is
there. Dirty, torn, and taped and with a postmark of January 31st, 2005. One
year seven and a half months for the package to cross the US.
Pony Express still in use? ;-)
best,

Hi,
I make it an average speed of roughly 12 feet a minute.
That's a little fast for a snail, but a little too slow for a pony.
Floundering about for the optimal solution, I believe that
TURTLES provide the best fit to the data...
