Elton and list,
there was NO meteorite impact in the Chiemgau in Southern Germany! This whole
story about a comet impact and a huge strenfield of impact craters is nonsense.
These appears to be a perfect marriage of amateur and academic cooperation.
This is a good example of VOODOO SCIENCE!!
Thanks Darren and Elton
It just shows how naive I am about metal detection ! I never used one...
But I am surprised that my post didn't get more response, as well as the
ones from Darren
that I mentioned in my first post:
1- Possible Ohio crater in Apr. 2005: not one response to it !

Hi all
We have studying the Carancas event with several colleagues from Peru and
elsewhere. In particular we analyze the case of the bull that was knocked by
the explosion shockwave, as well as other similar situations.
You can find a presentation about our work in:

depends on machine and operator I suppose. These are quite expensive
tools, and I just discovered them a few days ago. They are used in
mineral prospecting, and will do elemental composition in ppm I
think.

Good article. Although I will share later tonight a serious scientific
not much known study about water dowsing.

Michael, Sonny and all,
Thanks, West definitely goes in my top 5 meteorite hunts of all time. These
were easily the freshest meteorites I've ever found. My first one was only 5-6
days after it hit.
We had a fun group of people too. Miller and I hung out wth Steve Arnolds team

Dear Listoids,
Today I found this You tube video, covering an interview in the German TV
channel NDR, with Thomas Grau regarding his chase after the January 17
bolide.
In the interview, in German language, there are some interesting close up on
the fragments found by Mr. Grau.

No Darren, although interesting.
It confirms that some individuals are better at dowsing than others... (see
