Congrats, Martin, for being in the right place at the right time! Must have
been a gorgeous sighting, just like winning the lottery. As Rob already pointed
out, seeing this going west it unlikely will or could have been a decaying
satellite, as almost all of those are heading eastwards somehow,
Dirk,
It may be a recycled video but looks the real deal to me compared to
what I saw. Plenty of other ones are definitely recycled but I think
that one is genuine. Your site got hit hard, loads of reports, any

Hello Greg and all!
Part of this is why hunters need, not only the immediate support from
NASA, but also the support of the institutions that hunters have
supported so generously. Obviously, if the media is to blame for
this, they are very much part of this. All of the PR generated,

sightings map. There are at least 3-4 witnesses from Holland, 1 from the Sea
East of the UK and a maybe in Sweden(I did

Also -- the video from Dalbeattie, UK, showing the bolide fairly low
on the horizon moving left to right and nearly parallel to the horizon
confirms the shallow entry angle, the east-to-west motion, and suggests
that the ground track was much closer to Manchester Liverpool than it
was to
I went back to Graham's original post and see that the fireball was also

I am by no means an experienced observer but I have been back today to

Location - (not got GPS co ordinates but exact address I was at was
122 Broadway, Chadderton, Oldham, Lancashire, UK
Start point - 25 degrees elevation, 90
