Hello Paolo and the List,

That's probably enough questions for now. I hope the

Hi All,
I just finished _Meteorite Hunter_ by Roy Gallant
(ISBN 978-0071372244).
This book is not terribly technical, but is a great
read none the less. The book consists mostly of a sort
of travel log of Mr. Gallant's wonderful expeditions
to several remote impact sites in the former USSR

Hi All,
This is an interesting thread.
In addition to meteorites, I collect books on
meteorites, tektites, the manned space program,
catholic prayer books, local history, and the
sciences.
I collect family history (genealogy), woodworking
tools, guns, catholic rosaries and medals.

Hi All,
There is some real metallic Willamette floating around

Hi All,
I am investigating the purchase of a saw for cutting
meteorites. I have done some web searching, but the
prices are much higher than I expected.
This saw should have a 2" max depth of cut, should
give good enough surface finish to avoid the need for
a large amount of lapping to remove t

Another excellent way to demonstrate this same effect

Hi Sonny,
One technique to make it easier to determine magnetic
attraction is to tie a string (about 2-3 feet long)to
a strong magnet (like a neodynium magnet) , hang onto
the string, target on the ground, look down the string
while drawing the magnet close to the target. You will

Hi Kevin,
I believe, from looking at your photos that you have

result of an aluminum beer or soda can being thrown

Hi Kevin,
Nope, I don't think there are metal tektites.
The tektite origin theory that is most widely accepted
is that Tektites are terrestrial material melted into
a glass by the heat of a large meteorite impact. Since
the material on the surface of earth is mostly
silicate, tektites are essent

Hi Listees..
I consider an individual to be the meteoroid body that
traversed the atmosphere for long enough to create
crust and sculpt the surface with flight markings,
flow lines, rounded edges etc.
A fragment is a broken part of an individual. The
fragmentation can happen as a result of strik

Is there any real science that shows that the Frass

* Attempts to skirt laws governing ownership
* Denying sci
