What you are talking about is probably magnetic iron shale, which used to be

Hartman as well. If I remember correctly, he spent many a day, and week, out
there hunting in and around that hole.

to use Gibeon iron due to its tight structure and high nickel
content. There is an Arizona knife maker in the Tucson area by the name of
