Thanks to everybody for your interest and your kind comments on the photo of the Taousz/Breja stone which Michael kindly posted. Much appreciated.    Carl, the degree of brown vs black in the color of the fusion crust of a freshly fallen chondrite is a function mainly of the magnetite (FeO·Fe2O3)
