Dear List Members,
I have several very rare pieces ending in auction
early this afternoon. Lots of extraordinarily hard to
get planetary material including some falls. Do not
forget to check out the 5 plus gram Angrite and the
1.5 gram Brachinite, both of extreme scientific
interest lately.

So, a dinner with Michael Casper is worth 1000x less than a cornflake.

Ok - I had thought I'd seen it all - but a 3K cornflake? He used a dime for
scale - if he was serious, he would have used a 1CM scale cube.

Oh my, you are new to the list.
Just kidding. Michael Casper has not been an item with the list for many
moons.
Casper was once a meteorite dealer and at that time a very colourful
character. He was involved in many verbal wars over the list and was a good
source for entertainment. he

I don't believe that this is discussed nearly as much as it should be
discussed. I'm primarily a collector , occasionally a dealer and I'm curious
where my meteorite investments currently are and where they are headed.
I don't sell nearly enough volume or to a large enough market
Record 2007 for me in total sales and new customers. Several new customers that
are looking for very high end material. I expect an equally good year in 08 if
Jan and Feb are not anomalies.

Bob,
Just a slight suggestion: The Federal Trade Commission will not allow
dealers to call meteorites an investment. That term is only allowed with
registered securities.
Of course as a collector, you are free to call them what you like. ;-)
And of course, politicians are exempt from
I have to agree, a lot of new collectors with means in the last 18 months.
Early 2007 is when I really started to notice the upward trend of both big
collectors and less high end material.
I had a huge setback meteorite wise at the end of 2006 and it took most of
2007 to recover the loss so
