wsconsctl code show the "w" option is

i've been following 67-beta ... and just noticed this since #711.
it is possible this issue occured earlier.
i have no idea if display.brightness worked on 6.6-stable

Hi, you have an Intel HD Graphics 520 for which inteldrm(4) support was
add very recently. So, to have graphic acceleration and backlight
support, you have to upgrade to current or wait for 6.2.

but it doesn't seems to work. Although
the value of wsconsctl display.brightness changes the screen brightness
doesn't change.
# wsconsctl
keyboard.type=pc-xt

keyboard.bell.period=100
keyboard.bell.volume=50
keyboard.bell.pitch.default=400
keyboard.bell.period.default=100
after suspending or

In any case, thank you all for your replies.

Try suspending to RAM and waking it up again. Sometimes, the brightness
keys don't work for me either. Suspending + waking up once seems to fix
it.

To be more precise, i can't control screen brightness by pressing
Fn + Home (increase) or Fn + End (decrease). These are thinkpad's
shortcuts for controlling brightness. Controlling brightness
by command line works.
The shortcuts worked in OpenBSD 5.9.
Dmesg:
OpenBSD 6.0 (RAMDISK_CD) #2100
Does it help to disable acpivideo in the kernel? I need to do this on my
UEFI Asus laptop to get it working.

Hello,
I have a problem with screen brightness on an Acer Aspire ES1-411,
I can change the brightness value with wsconsctl and it doesn't return
an error,
but the brightness is still high like at 100%.
$ wsconsctl display.brightness
display.brightness=100.00%
$ wsconsctl display.brightness=0
I have the problem on OpenBSD 5.9 and current.

Hi,
I noticed that on an HP 4530 laptop (using the intel video card, the
extra video card which wasn't properly initialized and used in OpenBSD
is directly disabled in the bios) comes up both in console and in X with
a pretty dim screen brightness.
"xbacklight" tells me however &
Hello all,
This is my very first OpenBSD install on bare metal, on an HP
EliteBook 8470w, OpenBSD 5.6 to be exact. Everything is going quite
nicely except for the machine's backlight which I can't seem to
adjust.
Here are the specifics:
1) The brightness keys (Fn-F9 and Fn-F8) do not work.

Same problem exists on Ubuntu Linux.
Try xrandr
F.e. xrandr --output LVDS1 --brightness 0.75
It looks to me that it is changing the color palette to make it look
brighter/darker, but not actually controlling the backlight intensity.

the best of course.

Hi,
I noticed that since I upgraded to 5.5, the two keys that controls the

mid-dark. This happens when the new framebuffer console runs, but also
when X11 runs.

Hi all,
I'm currently having trouble getting my f7 and 78 brightness keys to work on my
