Forward this message to a friend! Core Curriculum? Ask the Legislature to READ THE STANDARDS BEFORE PASSING THE STANDARDS!! Ask the Legislature to COUNT THE COST before encumbering our state. At one time, the American education system led the world. But over the last 50 years we have been in a steady free fall. What changed? We gave up local control of education to the Federal government and the UN standards to which the Department of Education adheres. Every few years, they rename and revamp a new system (Goals 2000, No Child Left Behind, Race To The Top, Core Curriculum, etc.) that is failing to educate our children, but is successfully indoctrinating them to think "globally" and "enviromentally" as Agenda 21 driven global citizens rather than hard working, God fearing, common scense Americans. We teach them that America is an imperialistic nation, rather than an exceptional nation. Rather than teaching facts and truths, we are teaching about feelings and collectivism. The Federal Government has NO AUTHORITY in the Constitution to establish a Federal School System. However, the Federal Government, that is currently almost $17 trillion in debt, baits us to adopt Federal guidelines by contributing to our states education budget. They assume complete control! Talk about the tail wagging the dog. Call the Governor, your Senator and your State Rep and politely ask them to oppose any bill that advances the Core Curriculum until they have PERSONALLY done the following: 1.) Read the curriculum for themselves entirely, before deciding that it is best for our children. Didn't we mock Pelosi for stating that we had to pass Obamacare before we could find out what is in it? 2.) Do an official study and count the cost to our state of implementing the Core Curriculum. Independent analysis shows that it will cost our state millions of dollars to implement Core Curriculum. If we have so much extra money, why do they keep talking about the need for MORE revenue? We Christians must stop being hypocrites. We complain about Federal Government intrusion and we complain about the Federal deficit, but we stand in support of those in Jefferson City and D.C. that do such things? Our schools will not close if we don't implement the Core Curriculum this year. At least know what you are buying and how much it's going to cost before you buy it. YOU MUST CALL TODAY!
