Although I still don't see what this issue has to do with mod_ssl itself, I
recommend you to look at the stuff on modules.apache.org. When I remember
correctly there is already a module for Kerberos authentication. Alternatively
I think some AFS-based websites also used the mod_auth_external to
authenticate via AFS...
