I love Lucy, but MAME is the perfect example of Hollywood power

I am selling an original one sheet on DEAD MAN'S EYES with Lon Chaney. It
was mounted to a cardboard backing many years ago and the owner attempted to
restore it himself (I think) before restoration became an art form. Most of
the restoration, luckily, is in the white

You are right Steve. It was Carol Lawrence and Larry Kert. I've always
wondered which soundtrack West Side Story fans like more, the Carol Lawrence
version or the Marni Nixon verison? I so love Marni Nixon in her many
incarnations, but Carol Lawrence had a beautiful voice.

The really great thing about the Broadway cast album of WEST SIDE
STORY is Larry Kert's performance. His singing is amazing and he must
have been the perfect Tony! I watched the film version on the big
screen recently and was reminded that the musical scenes were
absolutely terrific but

should have played in the film version that didn't. Richard Beymer was o.k.,

the reason. Having never seen the stage version of Dolly, I have nothing to

This is not always the case and very often the producer's will say they need a
box office name. They might have several for the director to choose from but
it's most definitely not soley the director's

Gwen Verson really didn't know how to tone it down for films. I'm not
sure if Michael Crawford would have worked had he been cast in the film,
