Two American Bitterns, single Lark Sparrow on Blue Hill Trail, Sherburne
Refuge this morning.
Lark Sparrow at Kunkel WMA, southern Mille Lacs County (just off 95) on
Saturday - only my second in Mille Lacs County in 7.5 years (although they
do nest just a few miles south of this WMA).

This morning at the 180th St. Marsh in Vermillion, Dakota Co., Susan Schumacher
and I found an alternate plumaged Eared Grebe. The EAGR was in the most
eastern section of the marsh on the north side of 180th St., out in the middle
between the road and the far shore. It was preening the 20
At about 2:00 today 18 Avocets were observed in a field flooded by the
Vermillion
River at the north end of Prairie Island. This is about ¼ mile east of the
bridge
(Dakota C.R. 68) along Goodhue C.R. 18.

180th St marsh
Did not find previously reported Eared Grebe (it could easily still be there),
but had a 5 min. view of LeConte's Sp. on the south side of the road adjacent
to the SW wetland. It was within a few feet of the road and perched fully in
the open. It behaved like a
