Yesterday evening, along with a small flock of migrating White-crowned and
White-throated Sparrows (which have been here for several days), I saw a
Harris's Sparrow in breeding plumage. It ate some seed, and shot into a cedar
bush next to the house. We saw it feeding again several times early
We did our Tower Day yesterday. We had 71 species. It was a good day
compared to the cool windy days prior. The birds were very active. We were
out
in the Tower for 15 hours. We had more Harris's Sparrow show up besides the one
that wintered over. We also had a BW Warbler in the yard,

Bridge in Hennepin Cty. It was in the shrubbery about 50 yards from the

My Hummingbirds arrived in my yard today (a bit south of Hastings, Dakota
County). I had my nectar feeders up and ready for them J Haven't seen my
Orioles yet though!

I had my FOY male Indigo Bunting show up in the yard today in western Polk
County (East Grand Forks). Seems fairly early to me.

After reading about terns at French park, I drove there at 1545. They were not
there in the high winds. However, driving east on Co 9 I looked at the small
Lost Lake to the south of the road and noted a number of gulls resting on the
water.
