Hi All,
We still have lots of sparrows on the refuge, although today they're hunkered
down in the wind. White-throated, white-crowned, Harris's and fox are at the
refuge feeder daily. I got a photo of a LeConte's a couple of days ago - it's
not a great shot, but shows field marks and colors.
Discovered a Red-bellied Woodpecker feeding on crab apples along the main road
into Park Point Recreational Area near the playground. There was also a
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker feeding on the same tree. I was able to get photos of
the Red-bellied Woodpecker.
The weather here in Duluth is
In addition to the 2 Ross's Geese reported at the Two Harbors golf course
earlier today, the MBW group also saw a female-plumaged Harlequin Duck this
afternoon on the Burlington Bay side of Two Harbors. Unfortunately, the duck
took flight ~2:30pm and flew west in the direction of the Agate Bay
