One snowy owl sighted east of the Superior middle school in the field
today 1/24/15 at 11am. Sex not confirmed (no binocs in car).

If you saw the PBS Nature show about hummingbirds a few years ago, you saw
footage of the MASP near the end. The bird numbers in the 100's and is
found in N Peru. It is IUCN Red List: Endangered. You can see a great

Spent some time birding in NE Minnesota with Herb Dingmann, Kim Eckert and Paul
Egeland over the last few days. In addition to the birds previously reported
by Kim we found these additional species.
Northern Pintail - Four were still being observed at Canal Park in Duluth.
Four Snowy Owls were located in SW Dodge Co during sunset hours (4:00 to
5:30), Utility pole on lane west of 120th.Ave between 700th and 690th.,
700th X 150th. and 685th St. west of 120th. and Utility pole north of 700th
at old migrant camp site.

I just stumbled onto a beautiful Varied Thrush in Eagle's Nest County Park. I
was looking for roosting owls and heard a strange chirping and got a nice look.
