The Snowy Owl reported by Ken Vail is still present at 8:30am only on the west
side of 84th just south of 50th.

I checked my trail camera this weekend. I set it out on December 26th. On Jan
16th, it captured 2 Magpies with a wolf and raven. In one shot, the Magpie is
literally no more than a couple of feet away, waiting for the wolf to drop a
morsel from the deer carcass it is chewing on.
Other critters
Yesterday afternoon there was a flock of 25 or so Snow Buntings on the ball
field areas of Park Point. They were also perched in the trees along the edge
of the fields.

This afternoon there was a Merlin chasing birds about a block from my house
in Lake Park. They are fun to watch.

Wood Duck in the channel between Fountain Lake and Albert Lea Lake. It's
hanging with a flock of Mallards.
Brown-headed Cowbird keeping company with House Sparrows in the Hy-Vee parking
lot.
A few Common Redpolls here and there.
