I have been requested to post a photo documenting the Say's Phoebe that was
seen at Miller Lake during the Salt Lake festival on 4/25. Can anyone send
me a photo?

The Ruff is now being easily seen at a different location. It is in the area
where it was originally seen on Saturday.
Come down the hill, go straight to the tee and turn left. There is a beaten
path to your right before you reach the wooden bridge. Take that out to the
edge of Long Meadow
The Ruff originally found by Steve Carlson at the Bass Ponds was still there at
5:00 pm, late Monday afternoon. While searching for this Ruff there were also
thousands of other shorebirds, mostly Lesser Yellowlegs, to shift through. I
identified nine species of shorebirds, including Dunlin,
any RUFF sightings today, Tues. May 5 ?

Saw blue-headed vireo (U of M campus in Saint Paul), ovenbird,
yellow-rumped warblers, and black-and-white warblers (golf course next to
the Saint Paul campus) this morning. Also saw a savanna sparrow yesterday
morning at the wetland on the Saint Paul campus (Sarita wetland).

Arrived at the Bass Ponds about 6:30 to look for the Ruff. We and the
other birders we met were unsuccessful in locating it. It was last seen
about 3:00 or 4:00. There were thousands of shorebirds on Long Meadow
Lake. I ID'd 9 species including Dunlin, LB Dowitcher, and Wilson Snipe.

Seriously, Steven? A rough trail?
I couldn’t think of a good word for the trail, maybe “unofficial” or
“impromptu”. The point is, it’s not obvious from the “official” trail.
