The Burroughs Birders youth birding club is all a twitter (sorry) about the 4
Broad-winged hawks we saw over the playground.
A bald eagle made an appearance at the same time to end our bird walk in style.

First it was pointed out to me that the location that I originally posted
is in Derrynane Township not Lexington Township.
Second Doug Kieser checked it out tonight and found workers in the field,
so perhaps this won't be as good as I thought.
Third Doug Kieser went on to Eggert Lake on the east
Warmer weather has speeded things a bit. Several species of warblers at
Tamarac: Yellow-rumped, Black-and-White, Palm, Orange-crowned and an early
Nashville. Prairie Chickens dancing on the lek at Hamden Slough. The Detroit
Lakes Festival of Birds is only 16 days away. Doug Buri doing a shorebird
There's an excellent shorebird spot on the east side of CR 121 about a mile
north of CR 28 in Lexington Township. There were Lesser Yellowlegs, Least
Sandpipers, Pectoral Sandpipers and when I first got there, 2 Willets.

near the parking lot at the northeast corner of the Watonwan WPA (located
along CR30 and Amber Road in Blue Earth County).
