Could someone possibly explain how birders can visit the Blue Lake Sewage
Treatment Plant ponds. I visited years ago and seem to remember just driving
into the plant. I revisited today and the entire facility seemed to be fenced
off, with access gates closed.
Birders are still going there
There are 9 Trumpeters on Silver Lake in Virginia today. Most I have seen at
one time this year. But the cool thing is that one is banded, and the same bird
was here on February 22. I reported that sighting to the USGS, and will report
this one too. Any thoughts on where it has been the last 4
A flock of about 25 Tundra Swans came in at 2:30 this afternoon to Long
Meadow Lake. They can be seen from the observation deck at the Old Cedar Ave
Bridge.

This is going to sound a bit unreal but I found another Three-toed Woodpecker
near Cook in St. Louis County. This bird was seen on the west end of Plum
Creek Road which is west of Cook.
