. Shorebirds observed at Lewiston Sewage Ponds: Pectoral Sandpiper - 50 or so Baird's Sandpiper - 2 Least Sandpiper - 3 Spotted Sandpiper - 2 Lesser Yellowlegs - 4 Greater Yellowlegs - 2 Also hundreds of immature starlings at the sewage ponds. That was a little sad to see. Chad Aakre Winona County

I drove some gravel roads on my way home from my Rochester to Winona commute and had 7 Gray Partridge eating the corn sticking up above the snow. This was the intersection of County Road 37 and CR 22 due south of Whitewater State Park. Quite a beautiful bird. Chad Aakre Winona County

Hey folks, I watched a Short - eared Owl feeding on a rodent at the Salem Corners spot today. It was fun to see it all puffed up against the cold. The owl... not the rodent!! Anyways, this is a life bird for me and 296 for the state. 300 here I come. See ya, Chad Aakre Winona County
