past 5 days. It was found by Milt Blomberg on Thursday.

As I was driving home from work, I noticed a bird on the power pole next to
the Rockwoods Grill sign. I pulled into the parking lot and confirmed it

to observe 1 Least Tern flying around and picking food off the surface of

We found a pair of Western Kingbirds in the same area they have been seen
in other years in Ramsey in Anoka Co. Take Taprock St off of 10/169 and
pull into the empty lot on the right. Male was seen by large Ash tree next

This afternoon we had a flock of 2 dozen Snow Geese fly over us on
Highway 52 near Oronoco. They were flying south in the direction of
Rochester. We didn't realize at the time that this was quite a rare
sighting for the area at this time so we didn't chase them down for
photos.

I birded the river starting at downtown Elk River and was surprised to hear
then see flying off a Killdeer. There was also a robin behind the empty bank
building. Other birds seen in the river were Trumpeter Swans, 50+, Common
Mergansers 6, Common Goldeneyes 50+, and mallards. I moved to Otsego
Varied Thrush was spotted again today about 5 or 6 houses west of 47th and
Oakley. I believe it to be same individual spotted by Janet Riegle Laura
Erickson on 12/15 and Don Kienholz on 12/19. I spotted it at 2:00 PM today,
12/28.

I took a drive along the Mississippi from Elk River to Champlin along the
Great River Road. I saw approximately 150 Trumpeter Swans some at most stops
along the way. I saw a few Bald Eagles, one was on a nest in the middle of a
probable Heron Rookery in Otsego. I also saw what looked like a group
Until such a stamp is available, I suggest that wildlife lovers of all
stripes buy a duck stamp. It serves the same purpose as development and
conservation of water fowl habitat is also habitat many other species of
wildlife.

On 4/30/12 I saw my resident barn swallow flying amongst the hordes of
martins and just now I heard my 1st chimney swift of the year. I also heard
the house wren yesterday so all the nesting birds from last year in my yard
are back.

for a location for an off-leash dog park in south or southwest
Minneapolis. Two of three locations are adjacent or very near the east
