Yesterday morn I observed a House Wren foraging for food on the ground.
Not once but twice it picked off a small leaf from a Campanula perennial.
Both times it ate the whole leaf.
My thought was that the leaf must have had an insect attached that it could not
remove. I did not see it attempt to remove an insect though.
Maybe they are so hungry from a long trip that they need a more varied diet.
