Today, in the late afternoon, there were at least 3 adult Thayer's Gulls and 2 
Horned Grebes in the southwest corner of the lake. One Thayer's showed much 
darker upper wing coverts than I'm accustomed to seeing (despite what the books 
say about this being typical). Another showed deep, dark pink legs which 
contrasted well with the grays of the nearby Herring Gulls.
