During the first of a field trip I am leading out of Redwood Falls, our group
headed out to a location in Lyon County reported by Roger Schroeder earlier

I looked for the Summer Tanager this morning at the same location as last year
in Lebanon Hills Park. I found him almost immediately. He never vocalized. A

In addition to the three BLACK-NECKED STILTS reported and relocated
today near Rice lake State Park in Steele County, two more
Black-necked Stilts were found by Bill Marengo at the Belle
I found a Cattle Egret in Scott County at 11:30 Sunday morning. It was
in a wet, grassy area on the west side of Co. Rd. 18 just south of
Crossings Blvd. Take US 169 south to Co. Rd. 18 and continue south to a
stoplight by the Home Depot Store. That's Crossings Blvd. The best

Take the trail along the bluff out of the north parking lot. It was about
half way to the first loop off to the right.
At the far end of the trail, where the boggy area is, Ruffed

This afternoon my husband and I found two Eared and one Red-necked Grebe
at the sewage ponds in Gaylord (back pond).

This morning I saw a lone Lark Bunting on Creek Road, in the willow just
across from the farms there.
Take 65 north out of Nashwauk about 1.5 miles and turn left just past CR8 on
to Creek Road. The Lark Bunting was about .5 miles down Creek Rd on the left.

At 6:40 PM tonight the Black-necked Stilts were still there in the rain and
not acting like they were going anywhere soon. Be forewarned that on Monday
there will be construction workers in the ponds and it is wise to stay out
