On the way to see the Buff-breasted and Baird's Sandpipers in NW Isanti
County my wife and I found 7 American Golden Plovers in a wet field on the
east side of CR 13 a little south of CR 62(373rd Ave NW). This road runs
along the county line about 3 miles south of where the sandpipers have
been.
I received word that the Rufous Hummingbird in LeSueur is still being seen
this morning. Pumpkin Hill Road is a gravel road that can be accessed
from US 169 just south of the water tower and Wolf Motors(a Ford

Come down the hill, go straight to the tee and turn left. There is a beaten
path to your right before you reach the wooden bridge. Take that out to the

Shrike and 4 fledglings at the SW corner of 690th St and 240th Ave in
Dodge County. The fledglings were perched in a 10' Spruce Tree. He also
had a Black-billed Cuckoo about 3/4 of a mile south in a wooded are on
240th Ave.
The bird is being seen at some distance from Trail Marker 36 looking SE.

near Blue Mounds State Park. Take CR 8 east of 75 about 2 miles and shortly
after 8 turns north take 145th, a dead end gravel to a pond on the south side
of the road. There are wooden structures around the pond.

Impoundments in Grant County. It is with a large group of shorebirds on
the north side of the impoundment(260th St) east of an overlook shelter.

of the landfill east of Hwy 23 near Lynd in Lyon County about 4:15 PM.
Previous observers saw it at around 10:00 AM and around 12:30 PM today. It
requires patience but is well worth the wait. It is a striking
I just located a Sabine's Gull at the Gaylord Sewage Ponds in Sibley County.
It is in the most westerly pond associating with Franklin's and Ring-billed
Gulls.

Yesterday Barb and Denny Martin were able relocate Red Crossbills in Pope and
Stevens Counties as previously reported. They also found them in Big Stone
County in a Catholic Cemetery near Beardsley, 1 mile south of Hwy 28 on Hwy 7;
in Lac Qui Parle County in the cemetery in Dawson and in
I stopped at Tollefson Woods in Mantorville and heard what I thought was an
Acadian Flycatcher. I never got a really close call. I stopped again on my
way home and I've heard it 4 more times, once close. It seems to move around a
lot so no visual confirmation. For those who know the woods,
Greg Burnes found a Northern Mockingbird in Hyland Park in Bloomington. Best
way to find it is to enter from the east on 94th.
