From time to time I am asked to inform our members of events that may be of
interest. This is one of them.

Minneapolis Premiere - "Green Fire: Aldo Leopold and a Land Ethic For Our Time"

The Bell Museum of Natural History invites you to a one-night only film
screening of "Green Fire: Aldo Leopold and a Land Ethic for Our Time." The film
is the first full-length, high-definition documentary ever made about legendary
conservationist Aldo Leopold, and it explores Leopold's life and the ways his
land ethic philosophy continues to be applied all over the world.

Following the film will be a discussion and reception with Dr. Stanley Temple,
Professor Emeritus and Senior Fellow at the Aldo Leopold Foundation. Both the
film—featuring fascinating interviews and breathtaking footage–and the
subsequent discussion make this event a must-attend for anyone with an interest
in our environment and the legacy of conservation in the United States.
Produced and funded by The United States Forest Service, The Aldo Leopold
Foundation and the Center for Humans and Nature.

Just before the Green Fire documentary there will be a special screening of a
short presentation about the Weeks Act. One hundred years ago this law set
into motion the creation of the National Forests in the eastern US. Learn how
these forests continue to be an integral part of America's environmental and
economic well-being as well as outstanding examples of Leopold's land ethic
still being carried out today.
