Xcel Energy will allow birders to have access to the causeway at the Black Dog Power Plant as part of the Bloomington Christmas Bird Count next Saturday, 12/15. As in the last few years, anyone interested will need to be at the gate so that we can all be admitted at the same time - promptly at either 10 AM or 3:30 PM. The entrance is at the plant, along Black Dog Road, right along the Minnesota river. There is plenty of parking in the pull out across from the gate; we'll then walk about 300 yards to the casueway.
If you will be joining us for either walk, please email me with a count of people in your party and whether you're interested in the morning or afternoon (or both), as the plant manager has asked be me to give him a rough count.
