I had a similar problem when I installed NS6 and, before that, NS4.76. I
fixed this by
following Netscape Help document #19990112-3, Netscape will not pull up
my dialer or any web pages.

My Computer, Dial Up Networking, Connection of choice.
You can also right drag

registry keys listed in dialr95.html worked, and I didn't have to load IE!
I've got another problem now, double clicking on a *.url link doesn't
go to that URL. Have any ideas?

I have a fresh load of Win95 first edition with Netscape 6.01 only.
No other browsers allowed. :-)
I'm surprised that Netscape didn't set itself as the default browser.

Control Panel -
Get latest Dial Up Networking update for yout platform, it should have
automatically dial when needed type of setting and it should be
updated for security/performance needs too.

Netscape does not dial - that is a function of Windows.

If you use a Mac: (may have similar in unix or pc world)
Has nothing to do with Netscape per se.
the key is the way you set Remote Acess or for older OSes PPP.
click on options and the on Protocol tab.
check :
Connect automatically when opeinning TCP/IP Applications.
