Hello, not purely mp3, but... I want to buy a soundcard, and am hesitating between the SoundBlaster 128 (~25$) and the SounBlaster 1024 Live (~60$). Main Usage: - playing my mp3 collection (mainly 128kbs quality) on my (very standard) HiFi equipement - converting my old audio tapes to mp3

Pierre I just bought a SoundBlaster 1024 live and compared to my old SoundBlaster 16 ASP I see no advantage for doing what you want unless you intend to listen with a 4 speaker set up (2 rear) I know of no improvement in SNR or distortion. Bill -- From: Pierre

Hi guys, recently i've been thinking of doing a program that scans a dir, reports the TOTAL time of all mp3 (MM:SS) and writes a file with that info. Only problem is that i can't seem to find any info on this how to read this things out of CBR/VBR files, any1 know where i can get such info ?
