Impact of Governor’s Budget Proposal on the City of Minneapolis
Preliminary Estimate
January 10, 2002
While considerable analysis needs to be done to evaluate the impact of the
Governor’s budget proposal, City
Barb and Greg are correct that MPHA is looking at purchasing rental property
to use for Section 8 housing. It is doubtful that it would be at such a
scale to on its own heat up the market. I think it should be clarified
that it is highly unlikely that MPHA will borrow against its properties
Ah, the paranoia of school-choice time...
Next Tuesday (1/15) is the postmark deadline for getting your choice
card to the Minneapolis School District. Being the anal-retentive
paranoid parents we are, we mailed our cards weeks ago.
My question: is there any way we can confirm the district
I am the person who wrote the e-mail that was quoted by Council Member
Ostrow at the December 27th DFL Central Committee meeting and whose
employment Mr. Biele threatened. Just to let you know that I was
authorized to speak on behalf of AFSCME on this issue and am still

GREEN ARCHITECTURE 101
Ever heard of Green Architecture and wondered what it is? When you think of
sustainable design do you only think of solar panels? Did you know that
environmental stewardship is more than just about saving the environment,
that it can save money too? The Sheridan

This is today.. I really would encourage folks to use this opportunity
to ask Pawlenty some questions. Minneapolis does have lots of voters --

A couple days ago I sent the (excerpt from a) message at the bottom. It
has since occurred to me to do the analysis another way. In particular,
I have taken the vote totals of **every** finalist in the City Council
elections, and ranked them by number of votes received:

Back in '78-'79 I was working for a local company that
was expanding into another city.
As the expansion took place, further investors came on
board, and everything became bollocksed.
It was decided that there was a need for a level of
organization and authority above the separate units.

I agree with what you are saying. Equal access for
EVERYONE. Is it truly equal access when the only
place for people with special needs can be serviced is

For those of you who missed it, the Star Tribune ran a story today about a fascinating
two-year study of trends involving African American men in Hennepin County. While the
study obviously focused on the county level, the Strib reported that the study found
that 49 percent of African American
