Has anyone found anything that searches for values in a WMI class? There seems
to be a bunch of programs like WMI Explorer that will search for classes but
not something that will search a value. It's very possible I'm doing something
wrong and not using it correctly.

We have an ask to be able to determine when a machine is being been
patched/rebooted and to be able to put the server into a blackout mode
We have 4 hour maintenance windows for servers and during that time the server
is in a black-out mode, so it doesn't generate a lot of messages during
I know MS push is to target to users and not machines anymore with SCCM 2012.
How many people are actually doing that now? Are you targeting to users now
instead of machines ?

Have you checked for alternate data streams on the files? I had an issue where
client notification wouldn't install on a primary, had to unstream all the
files and then sitecomp could install it.

minutes before it actually shows up in the collection. I understand it's

I was doing some work in the lab and performing a restore and was surprised to
see that our custom configuration.mof that was backed up wasn't actually
restored. The restore process put back the default configuration.mof
Can anyone else confirm they had to drop their custom configuration.mof
I'm pretty sure that's only available in R2.
